Good one, turning him into a petrol head. He'll have fond memories telling his kids about the days of combustions engines, and how it (really) was better than the new fangled bikes they have today (2050)

When I was 6 I wanted a dirt bike but there wasn't much space to ride and my mom just couldn't live with herself if she got me a bike and I mangled myself.

Fair play tony! Our son started with a mini moto at 18 months on stabilisers, and was competing in observed trials E class on Osets at 4. He is 9 now and rides a Gasgas.
Trials is the way to go buddy!!

I bought my daughter a quad bike a month before her 3rd birthday. she loves it. Good on you, seems like your little fella is loving his wheels! now as soon as he starts crashing it, he will have to start to learn to love machining and welding with his dad!!

You can use the brake handle off a bicycle on a dirt bike also. I have one on a 80 dirt bike i got for my nephews to ride my oldest nephew broke his arm playing football and wasn’t able to ride the bike with a cast so i took an old bicycle i built them a few years back took the brake handle off and put it on it for the gas now he can ride it along with his brothers and all of them can give it gas just by pulling the handle in. Yes i was the kid that didn’t have much and what i did have was someone else junk that wasn’t any good so i learn if I wanted something i had to take junk from everyone to build something that i could use with that i have made all kinds of stuff some better then what they had so much so they started bringing me their good stuff and trading me back for the junk parts that i made

Damn it Tony! Now seeing you build these amazing things for your son making me remember the amazing things my dad used to build me at that age now all does is work his butt off as an amazing engineer has made me want to have a kid so i can build amazing things like this. And I'm only 20!! first gotta fix the issue of no wife...

It's awesome how tough your sun is for being 6 years old. Really cool that he had that smile on his face after falling with the bike. Most 6 years old would have cried. I wish your son the best of luck and safety! I wanted a bike ever since I was his age and didn't get one until I was 19, now I have owned over 10 😁

when I was about five, my older brother took home a similar bike from work (there's a 10-year age gap between us). still one of my top 3 memories. not that it's competing against much, but that's a different story.

My dad started me on an XR50 when I was 5, after telling me that if I practiced really hard on my bicycle and showed enough initiative, he'd buy me a dirt bike. It's passion that the two of us shared for my entire childhood, and we still ride together to this day. There is no set age that is too young in my opinion. So cool to see others out there doing what my dad did.

4 wheelers are far more dangerous, good choice on the bike, wheres the video where you make him a seat until he uses it as a trial bike.

And it’s sad because I never see any other kids outside and I live in a pretty kid filled neighborhood. It’s not what I would think the world would go to, I’m only 13 but when I was eight I was riding all around the neighborhood and outside from tenAM to 7-8pm and now kids only go outside to get into there moms car or to bring in groceries. It’s sad how the world has changed
