Thank you for these videos. Sharing knowledge has an impact on humanity. Priceless information. Very well done production with graphics. That helps when you have ADD.

nah, you just add the bend radius to the thickness too. That gets you back that arc and its radius just fine.

Sheet metal bending can be quite complicated, as TOT tried to breeze by. Fortunately, modern CAD software will Unfold a sheet metal part (with all the correct info) to give you a flat drawing. Very cool!

A lot of these videos you make are of thing I taught myself through a little spacial perception, and the usual amount of trial and error. Your videos are telling me what I've been doing, without knowing it. And the little unlearned mistakes I've been making, like not taking into account bend radii.
Thanks for tying up my loose ends.

When making a sheet metal drawing. I mostly prefer to assist the fabricator with a flat pattern, and keep part tolerances loose as possible. Also, provide 3D CAD model, flat pattern DXF and pdf drawing. The manufacturer now has all options open to them, so long as the final part is to spec I don't care what they do.

A Q&D way (and really very accurate) is to measure a piece of scrap, bend it 90, measure the two flanges, and figure the difference between the flat and the result. That will give you the exact bend allowance for the tooling and setup you're using for a 90. Repeat for other angles.

In most steel and aluminum use a K factor of .4 and you'll be pretty close.
